Over the years, we here at Sjóvá have placed great emphasis on sustainability and social responsibility in our work. In accordance with our policy in these matters, we have drawn up a Code of Conduct for our suppliers that we ask them to sign.
The Code of Conduct is intended to promote and ensure that the requirements for best practices and ethics are met by our suppliers and in their entire value chain. Several companies have already gone down this route, requiring suppliers to sign a Code of Conduct, both to ensure that work is carried out in a sustainable manner throughout the value chain and to further increase awareness of the importance of conducting operations in a responsible manner.
With a greater emphasis on sustainability and increased demands in that respect, it is likely that more and more companies will request that their suppliers sign a similar code of conduct.
The Code of Conduct is divided into several sections, which are classified under human rights, the labour market, environmental issues and business practices. By signing the Code of Conduct, the supplier commits e.g. to respecting basic human rights, ensuring the safety of employees and promoting sustainability and the protection of the environment, to name a few.
The rules are not complicated at all, and it can be assumed that the vast majority of our suppliers already conduct their operations according to them.
If you are one of our suppliers and have not signed the Supplier Code of Conduct yet, please contact us and we will send you a document you can sign with an electronic signature.
